Another week, another Farmer's Market, I literally cannot wait for the days of hot weather to be behind us, I'm sure I won't have to wait long! What can I say 68-72 degrees is my ideal range. I actually hate beets but I'm obsessed with how pretty they are! I love the produce and everything but let's be real, I'm here for the pies! I should go in there one day. One of our favorite things to do in Fargo is to go to the library and see what books are for sale. I got The Wisdom Of Donkeys- Finding Tranquility In A Chaotic World, honestly this couldn't come into my life at a better time, I'm always tryna find tranquility and this world is getting more chaotic by the day. Oh hi. Other's is my favorite shop in Fargo. This is one of my favorite pictures I've ever taken, it just encapsulates me with joy. Zandbroz Variety is another one of my favorite shops, it has so much character & personality. My forever mood. My current wishlist. Instagram vs Reality Another place we need to go to ASAP: Mezzaluna. Coca- Cola. Casey thinks these sandals are ugly. I think they're perfect. Buildings covered in greenery: my natural habitat. This is the only time in 10 years he's asked me to take his picture. This is a moment people! How do weekends off go by so fast? It was peaceful & fun, as always I'm already looking forward to the next one.
We are so lucky. I am so lucky.

//Fargo* ND//First weekend in August is still hot & I'm still sweating at the Farmer's Market. I only get to go every other Saturday so not sleeping in and being a hot mess is totally worth the veggies for Casey & photos/ hand pies for me. After the farmer's market we drove around Moorhead which is one of my favorite hobbies ever. Whilst on the drive I listened to State Champs for the first time. They are going to be on tour with Blink 182 in September and they're coming to Moorhead and I already have my tickets! //side note// I found the allusive Bundaberg rootbeer! I tried it in Duluth last year and I've been dying to have one again. Moorhead how are you so good to me? Next we decided to head out to one of our favorite nature spots. //Abercrombie* ND//Instead of driving around the ND farmland we decided to hop back over to MN, from Abercrombie to Wahpeton to Breckenridge, not much going on in small town America but the day was ours to waste. //Fergus Falls* MN//I've been to Fergus Falls before but only for a few quick stops at the gas station while passing thru so we decided to check out Swan Lake. Being the weekend there was plenty of people around and it was still pretty hot so we didn't stay too long, but it was a nice little spot, people camping, fishing, boating, jet skiing and frolfing. We are tiny adventurers, we don't need much to make us happy. //Pelican Rapids* MN//Our first time in Pelican Rapids, we were just passing thru on our way to Detroit Lakes, as we rolled down main street we saw some ladies looking at something so we pulled around to find rapids! I absolutely love this little park, we were the only ones there & it was so adorable! It's this kind of stuff I want to see when I find a new small town to explore. And if I wasn't spoiled enough, my heart beats for this alleyway of perfection. I. am. obsessed. We've already been planning our next trip back to visit taco trucks, Mexican restaurants & downtown Pelican Rapids. On our way out of town we spied Franklin Lake! Naturally we had to check that out! Such a sweet little spot. We headed home thru Detroit Lakes, not much to write home about from that location, granted it was WE Fest weekend #NoThankYou, I didn't find anywhere/anything cool to shoot there, we stopped at a sketchy gas station and got the heck outta there! I can't even put into words how much I needed an impromptu road trip, Casey's work has been in full swing & my job brings me too much unwanted unnecessary stress, who knew selling tools needed to be the hardest thing in the world #LeSigh. Sometime this month we'll be headed back to Pelican Rapids, it's a quick 45 minutes away and we have more lakes & tacos to explore. In September we have the concert, October Fievel goes West to visit family, a stop to include a new (to me) co-op in Bismarck so that will be super fun. November brings my birthday and this year we'll be celebrating in Duluth and I literally cannot wait. I'm hoping to squeeze in a trip to Bemidji but I'm not sure when we'll be able to, maybe we can swing over on our way back from Duluth. The Cities will have to wait until spring I think, I truly hate traveling in the Winter months but check with me in December when I'm longing to get away again! This Winter will be spent slowing down, watching basketball & biathlons, eating at local restaurants, enjoying our time together & reading books. Thats it for me! I'm so grateful for nature & good company. We are so lucky. I am so lucky. |
